Symeo’s LPR ® -1DHP-291, a further development of the proven 60 GHz technology, enables highprecision, robust and maintenance-free distance measurements over short, medium and long distances.

With the same compact and lightweight form factor as its predecessor, the LPR-1DHP-290, the LPR ® -1DHP-291 achieves measurement accuracies in the millimeter range by utilizing the latest ultra wideband technology.

Due to the high level of robustness, the maintenance-free and wear-free LPR ® radar technology and the highly accurate measurement results, the radar distance sensor systems are the optimal solution for crane automation processes in the harsh everyday industrial environment.

Radar modes:

Primary Radar Mode

In primary radar mode, a single LPR ® -1DHP-291 measures range and
speed to a reflecting object, typically a radar reflector. The range is typically
50m but depends on the radar cross section (RCS) of the target used. The
primary radar mode has very high update rates and allows for a costeffective
installation. Typical applications are positioning of cranes and heavy
machinery, presence checking, level measurement and object detection.

Secondary Radar Mode

In secondary radar mode, two LPR ® -1DHP-291 measure the distance and speed between each other. The secondary radar mode offers long ranges up to 300 m, high update rates and ensures that the measurement is only to the partner unit. Typical applications are positioning of cranes and heavy machinery, process automation and collision avoidance.

Diversity Radar Mode

In the diversity radar mode, four LPR ® -1DHP-291 are grouped into two measuring pairs mounted next to each other. The diversity radar mode offers very long ranges of up to 500 m, high update rates and enables maximum operational reliability under the toughest conditions.
